Where to begin?

~If you’ve come for tea, browse the Tea Shop for one-of-a-kind tea blends that are crafted using medicinal herbs and organic teas.

~If you like stories you may enjoy the story of my grandmother, the woman who is partly to blame for my plant obsession and half the inspiration behind the business name.

~If you like gardens and plants you may enjoy the Healing Garden page, where you will find a selection of articles on plant healing and garden therapy.

~And if you share my love of poetry you may enjoy The Poetry Box, where you’ll find a selection of poetry pieces.

Whatever your reason for being here, I’m glad you stopped by.

More about the Tea Shop

Indigo Sky tea

I personally blend each tea that is for sale in the shop.

I’m a lover of plant-based healing, and the tea blends I’ve designed are meant for nourishment, while striving to be something pleasant to drink. I incorporate a mix of organic teas, healing herbs, and flowers that I grow myself using organic practices.

The teas are hand-blended in small batches, using organic ingredients as much as possible. There are no added flavorings in the blends. I use dried fruits, flowers, roots, and nuts to enhance the tasting notes. The ginger comes from fresh, organic ginger root that is dried here on location, in small batches as needed. This makes the fresh ginger flavor second to none.

I use quite a bit of fruit in the tea blends. I dry all of it here on location, with the exception of the elderberries. It is dried in small batches as needed, which keeps the fresh fruit flavor.

Several of the herbs are grown right here at Seed of Life, such as mint, lemon balm, sage, and anise hyssop. The black currant berries are grown here as well, along with a few of the flowers. Everything is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers or GMO seeds. It is hand-harvested as it is ready, and dried and stored in whole leaf form, which keeps the flavor intact.

Everything that is not grown here is sourced from certified organic suppliers.

Sustainability

Sustainability is the goal in all areas. The tea packaging is compostable, all brochures are printed on hemp paper, and your tea is shipped using eco-friendly packaging.

Healing our past. Nourishing our present. Seeding our future.

What’s behind this tagline?

The search for healing and wholeness is dear to my heart. Sometimes it’s a search for physical health and sometimes it’s emotional healing we seek; often it’s a combination. It’s hard to know where to begin. Sometimes we go to the past in an effort to find the roots of our pain. Sometimes we begin with the present, making big or small lifestyle changes. But what many of us find is that there is no clear separation between the two. Healing from yesterday makes today better. In the same way, the practice of nourishing our bodies, minds, and souls in the present will often touch our past and bring healing to past trauma or grief – healing that we may not have known we needed. And every act of healing and nourishing that we choose today seeds our future life with hope and joy.

The past, present, and future are closely intertwined. It’s a beautiful circle – a mandala of colors and textures, times and seasons.
