What’s in the tea?
Hobbit Tea Time has a red rooibos base. Red rooibos tea is antioxidant-rich and good for the body in many ways, including digestion and skin. Roasted dandelion root complements the nutty, caramel-like essence of the rooibos tea. I chose Rama tulsi for its sweet earthiness and its calming benefits. Tulsi is a mild and safe adaptogen that is considered to be safe for any season of life. It’s a recalibrating herb, bringing a feeling of calm to the nervous system. Cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, and cacao nibs add flavor and depth. A pinch of hibiscus and safflower petals ties together the nourishing herbals and warm spices of this blend with a delicate sweetness. This tea holds up well to the addition of milk or cream and, in our opinion, a bit of honey makes it perfect. This tea is a good caffeine-free coffee alternative.
Gingersnaps not required but highly recommended.
Steeping Guidelines:
1 Tablespoon tea to 8 ounces water
Water temp: boiling
Steep time: 5-8 minutes
“If ever you are passing my way,
don’t wait to knock!
Tea is at four;
but any of you are welcome at any time.”
-J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit
