What’s in the tea?
This chai has a black Assam tea base. Named after its birthplace, the Assam region of northeastern India, Assam tea has a rich, malty feel. It is wonderful by itself, but it holds up well to the addition of chai spices. This chai blends traditional chai spices and then brings in fresh-dried orange peel and cacao nibs for a delightful spin on the traditional drink.
Steeping Guidelines:
2 tsp. tea to 8 ounces water
Water temp: full boil
Steep time: 5-7 min.
A note on steeping guidelines: Personally, I like to give my chai a second steep for a second cuppa. The flavors hold up well.
